IT STARTED WITH A BAD DAY AT THE POOL
Sunfall St. began the way most bikini wearers' frustrations do — in a swimsuit that didn't fit.
I was at a pool with my now-husband, in a bikini top that looked great on the hanger. The band fit my ribcage fine, but my chest was spilling out the top. It didn't look the way it was supposed to, and he could tell. Then came the thing every full-busted woman knows too well: the constant readjusting, the near-misses, the inevitable nip-slips.
At some point I went back inside, put my bra on (which fit perfectly, like bras do) and thought: wait. Why can't my bikini top just do this?
That was the moment it clicked. The problem was never my body. It was the swimsuit.
THE FIT PROBLEM, EXPLAINED SIMPLY
Here's the thing almost no swimwear brand will tell you: swimsuits are sized by your frame: small, medium, large — not by your bust.
That works fine if your body matches the "average" the sizing was built around. But if you have a full chest on a smaller frame, that math falls apart. Your ribcage might be a small, while your bust needs the room and support of a large. There's no single S/M/L that fits both at once, so you're stuck choosing. Buy for your frame, and the top can't hold your chest. Buy for your chest, and the rest of the suit hangs off you.
It's the exact reason your bra fits and your swimsuit doesn't. Bras are sized with two measurements: a band for your ribcage and a cup for your bust because those are two different things. Swimwear, for the most part, never caught up.
I'm not hard to fit. Neither are you. The system was just built wrong, and no one bothered to fix it.
